"Education is about creating people, not students."

WHO am I?

Hello, I'm Jaxson Khan. I'm a Grade 11 IBT student at Gordon Graydon. At my school, I have been a Grade Representative on the SAC for the past two years, and was elected Vice President for this year of 2009-2010. I am the founder and current president of the SWC, a committee dedicated to the promotion of mental and physical well-being among students. Finally, I am the president of the GSA, as I believe in social equality for all individuals.

WHAT is THE PLAN?

  1. Leadership – Encourage more conferences and extra-curricular activities in Peel.
  2. Health – Greater emphasis on personal health and wellness in Peel schools.
  3. Equality – Improve social equality and awareness efforts in Peel.
  4. Transparency – Promote open communication, and create a Peel Student Forum online.
  5. Accessibility – Reach out to sub-committees in Peel, and establish accessibility standards.
  6. Community – Connect to non-profits and improve youth involvement within the community.

"Integrity is everything."

I couldn't tell you enough about what I could I do, what I would do, what I should do. To tell the truth, anyone can do that. False promises are often the backbone of a political campaign. Not with me.

Everything I do isn't done in passing. I deeply consider the effect of any and every particular action on me and on others. In terms of personal experience: SAC is about leadership. SWC is about health; in body, and in mind. GSA is about realizing that we are all human, and we are all equal. I believe that leadership, health, and equality are (or should be) the key focuses of the Peel education system. Leadership, mental and physical health, and social equality. What else makes the world go round? You tell me.

Whether I know you or not, I'll take your idea into the highest consideration. That's what being a student leader is about. Listening more than you speak. I will listen more than anyone, because your voices deserve to be heard. A final promise to you, the students of Peel, from me, Jaxson Khan.
